This makes me incredibly angry. She has a name. She has a story. She’s a person, she’s not thinspiration. Everytime I see pictures of her on tumblr I get so irritated because people are stealing the pictures from the source without even crediting - also when her blog clearly mentions ©Copyright - and tagging it with all sorts of glorifying shit. 

I know her. I’ve talked to her. I’ve followed her blog for more than a year. I’ve seen her struggle, I’ve read every single word she’s written. She struggles every single day to break free from her chains. She believes in love, hope and faith. She’s been in and out of hospital for the past year, most of the time she’s been locked up. In belts, force fed. 

If you think this is thinspo, FUCK YOU.

You know why she posted this picture in the first place? She posted it around new years to show us her progress. To show us how far she’s come in spite of the difficulties she’s met. This is not how her body currently looks like. She’s fighting, she’s inspirational - recovery inspirational and not “fuck yes - go starve yourself to death, what a brilliant idea- inspirational”. 

She’s a survivor. I don’t really believe in miracles, but she is a miracle. She should’ve died because of what she’s put herself through, what her disease made her do. 

I left the thinspo tag on this picture before I posted this, hopefully someone else who browsed through the thinspo-tag craving motivation to fuel their disorders bothers to read this.

I hate it when people are like “oh, I wish I were anorexic, then I’d have no problems.” WRONG. Anorexia is a problem that will ultimately cause more harm than good. Wanting to be smaller? Okay. But wanting to starve yourself is not something I can  be okay with. I have a friend with anorexia. Hearing her say that she’s cold and her heart feels funny and she wants to eat but she can’t because THE TOAST HAS TOO MANY CALORIES is HEARTBREAKING. She recovered for roughly two years and then went into sudden relapse: seriously, she could be gone like a breeze.

I want everyone to realize that not everyone with a disorder is happy. Some are happy, some are in denial, and A LOT are trying to recover. Losing weight will not guarantee you happiness; growing as a person WILL.

Dangerous disorders should not be a source of inspiration!  This woman has clearly suffered, and people should not aspire to be like her because that’s just a slap in her face after struggling so much!

I think people also forget that Anorexia and Bulimia are MENTAL HEALTH PROBLEMS!!!! Thinspo???? How is wanting a Mental health problem and aspiring to be like these girls with mental health problems a good thing? You don’t look at someone with, I don’t know, Dementia and think “yeah, I want that too.” No. Eat healthy and exercise. Calling this ‘thinspo’ is horrible.

I will admit that I want to be smaller. But this is not thinspo. This is a problem that many deal with. I know what it feels like to not want to eat. Hate yourself every time you do, its not fun. I have had the same mindset for 4 years. I hate myself when I eat. I have to push myself to. Do you think it bothers me that i am so big? yes it does but i try to exercise and eat healty. its hard. But wanting a mental disorder is stupid. Its not fun or something that just goes away.
